UN 10655:
Rountrip mileage: 1.05 miles from FR 805 (west of Cochetopa Pass)
Elevation gain: 355'
Start to finish: 50 minutes

Today we picked short and easy peaks. From Gunnison, we drove Hwy 114 to CR NN14 toward Cochetopa Pass. When we intersected the Continental Divide Trail and saw hikers, we realized we drove past FR 805 and turned around. FR 805 is a good road and we drove it for approximately a mile and a half to another forest road where we parked. We began at 9:00 AM by hiking on the road a short distance before starting a bushwhack southeast to the summit. This was very easy and we were back at our trucks at 9:50.
UN 10556:
Roundtrip mileage: 1.3 miles from Cochetopa Pass
Elevation gain: 480'
Start to finish: 1 hour 30 minutes
Participants: Tim Briese, Brian Schultz
We continued on CR NN14 to Cochetopa Pass (photo 1, photo 2) and parked. 3 campers were loading up their gear as we milled around for a bit. At 10:40 we began on a south bearing, through considerably more deadfall, that brought us to an open area at the top of the slope. The views were terrific towards fourteener San Luis as we paused for pics before following the ridge southwest to the summit. This nondescript forested summit had us turning around shortly after reaching it and we were back to our trucks at 12:10.
UN 10389:
Roundtrip mileage: 1.20 miles from CR 750
Elevation gain: 375'
Start to finish: 1 hour 10 minutes
Participants: Tim Briese, Brian Schultz
We didn't have to drive very far from Cochetopa Pass for our third peak. CR NN14 becomes CR 750 on the east side of the the pass and we drove it a short distance and parked slightly northwest of the peak. We began at 12:40 PM, another easy bushwhack through the trees to the summit, and were back at our trucks at 1:50. More peaks can be added to these for those inclined but we were satisfied with these three easy ones.
