UN 9524:
Elevation gain: 15'
Start to finish: 3 minutes

They don't get much easier than this one. From Hartsel, take Highway 9 south to CR 53, follow CR 53 south, turn left on Chickasaw Road, left on Satanta Road and park off the road close to the summit. Avoid parking within sight of the house to the south of the summit. I walked 306' feet to the summit, with surprisingly has good views to the east, and made the quick return to my vehicle.

Threemile Mountain:
Roundtrip mileage: 1.85 miles
Elevation gain: 585'
Start to finish: 1 hour 10 minutes

I drove back to Highway 9, turned east on CR 116, and parked southeast of the peak. I began at 9:35 AM and followed the drainage to the left of the cliff walls. There was very little deadfall and I arrived on the summit at 10:00. I continued to the point north of the summit and began my descent from there. I kept closer to the cliff walls on the descent and arrived back at my vehicle at 10:45. Fun hike!

UN 10094:
Roundtrip mileage: 0.90 miles
Elevation gain: 580'
Start to finish: 1 hour 5 minutes

From Threemile Mountain, it's a short drive across Highway 9 to CR 108. I drove a short distance on CR 108 and parked southwest of the summit, across from a corral. I began at 11:25 AM and headed up the grassy slopes, which were easy but very steep, and arrived on the summit (photo 1, photo 2, photo 3) at 11:55. I stayed 15 minutes, departed at 12:10, and was back at my truck at 12:30.

UN 10569:
Roundtrip mileage: 1.03 miles
Elevation gain: 490'
Start to finish: 1 hour

I continued south on CR 108 and turned right onto FR 258 (Threemile Road on National Geographic Trails Illustrated map). I could easily see the summit from where I parked southwest of it. I headed up at 1:30 PM on a northeast bearing to avoid the drainage. The bushwhacking was easy through the trees and after a slight descent, open slopes led north to the summit. I stepped on top (photo 1, photo 2) at 2:00 and stayed 10 minutes enjoying terrific views. The weather was holding nicely with sunny skies as I returned to my truck at 2:30.

UN 10597:
Roundtrip mileage: 1.4 miles
Elevation gain: 490'
Start to finish: 1 hour 10 minutes

I drove back to CR 108 and parked north of the summit. Lots of deadfall was encountered after beginning at 2:55 PM but it was manageable. I stepped on top (photo 1, photo 2) at 3:30 and again stayed 10 minutes. Views were great from the summit and the descent only took 25 minutes. I was back at my truck at 4:05. These were fun peaks and one could climb lots more if so inclined.
