Mt Judge (10,301) by Brian Schultz Thursday August 25, 2016

Roundtrip mileage: 2 miles from parking lot at junction of Hwy 103 & Wittenburg road
Elevation gain: 1,060'
Start to finish: 1 hour 25 minutes

After trying to approach Mt Judge from a road northwest of the peak and seeing private property signs, I drove back down Highway 103 to a parking lot and began from there. This would entail more elevation gain but it looked feasible and I began at 10:10 AM by hiking to the right of a cabin. It's a bushwhack straight to the summit but an easy one despite a fair amount of deadfall.

I reached what looked like the summit but the actual summit was still 400' distant with an additional gain of 15' elevation. It's nice to have a GPS in these situations. I reached the higher summit at 10:50 and pulled out the summit register tucked next to a tree. Ten minutes later I departed and after a quick descent was back at the truck at 11:35. Easy and fun peak.
